A great boost for women

It’s been almost one and a half years​ of my journey with adidas and I have attended quite a few shoe launch events. What amazes is that every time they come up with an innovative shoe, they come up with an even more innovative way of launching it. What I find even better is their effort in the last one year to bring strong women together and letting them bond over sports and running which I love. I find it heartening as well as encouraging that a brand as large as adidas genuinely tries to bring women to the forefront. For the launch of adidas Ultra BOOST X, they brought together 30 women from from different spheres of life. And I was honored to be a part of that lot. But for me the biggest highlight was meeting the very unassuming Saachi Soni who has climbed Mount Everest, Mount Elbrus and Mount McKinley! Among others were body builders, athletes, fitness instructors and actress Saiyami kher. Continue Reading

Sneaker loving

I have never paid much attention to fashion trends. But like most women I struggle with I-have-nothing-to-wear-syndrome and I-don’t-know-what-to-wear-it-with syndrome. But I guess as you age, some things take priority over others. So for me now comfort comes first. Even though I still love wearing heels, I avoid wearing them to places where I know I have to stand for long hours or if I have to be on the move. Also, I don’t prefer to wear heels post a long workout or run. Thankfully, gone are the days when sneakers were only meant for gyms. You can style them the way you want to. So with my adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged I tried creating a few looks. What helps is that they are grey so they go well with most colors. Continue Reading

Run.Learn.Run.

It’s been over 5 years since I started running. And over the years the reasons for running have evolved too. It began with a quest to find myself. I started respecting and loving myself a little more every time I ran. I needed to run to have conversations with myself. The more I ran the more I understood about how much more capable I am of everything else. Then came a time when I ran for speed. I loved it and I wanted to get better and I wanted to prove myself. But I realised I was trying to prove myself to others and seeking validation. I think that’s where I got robbed of the joy that comes from running. I was achieving PBs but I wasn’t truly happy. And you can’t ever be truly happy if you are trying to do things for others. And that revelation was enough for me to take a step back from running. Now I have chosen to only run for myself, when I really want to and when it really makes me happy.
