Anupriya X Ghungat (Part 1)

Clothes, Fashion, Lifestyle - Anupriya kapur - April 17, 2018

Ghungat is a designer label by Shaveta and Anuj and you will find everything for bridal wear, weddings and cocktail. I created three different looks for them and since there are a lot of pictures, I’m doing two separate articles to do justice.

This lehenga and the jacket ensemble are elegant and elaborate yet easy to carry. I can’t even begin to describe how I felt wearing these gorgeous outfits.  It’s completely hand made and takes about 60 days ans 3-4 craftsman to work on it full time. Do check out their collection at South Ex store.

You can check the collection here – Ghungat . Make up by Richa and you can check her work on insta handle. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Continue Reading

Ghungat is a designer label by Shaveta and Anuj and you will find everything for bridal wear, weddings and cocktail. I created three different looks for them and since there are a lot of pictures, I’m doing two separate articles.

This saree is such a stunner yet very comfortable and light. I decided to keep it minimal. The amazing smokey eye make up has been done by Richa.

Practical tips for better time management

Accessories, Clothes, Lifestyle - Anupriya kapur - February 5, 2018

When I moved to India Kabir had started to go to school, I had a full-time house help and little else to do. I took up baking to fill my time. It got busy but never hectic. That’s how the first two years went. That’s when I took up blogging and almost overnight my situation turned on its head. Now, Kabir is entering his tweens and work is peaking more than it ever has. Not that I am not thankful for it but it has caught me completely unprepared. I have been struggling with time management for a very long time and, as is the case with most things, I learnt a valuable insight and lesson in time management out of accident. Continue Reading

MOTR x ColorosoWeaves

Clothes, Fashion - Anupriya kapur - December 27, 2017

I’m fortunate that as a blogger I’m pushed out of my comfort zone again and again. I was really excited when Coloroso Weaves approached me for a collaboration for their beautiful lightweight benarasi sarees. However, they wanted certain looks for the sarees and I wasn’t one bit sure if I would be able to carry them off. I love wearing sarees a certain way and hadn’t experimented much with them. My friend Richa, who’s learned the art of make up from the best in the country helped me with the looks. And it all came together beautifully. Hope you like them.

The sarees weigh only around 400 grams and are very easy to drape.

#SareeOnMe #WeWearCulture Photo Project with @googleindia @googlearts

Clothes, Fashion, For the soul - Anupriya kapur - September 18, 2017

Google has recently launched their Arts & Culture platform in a big way internationally. A part of its project is #SareeOnMe with Google India in which they wanted to showcase real women who wear sarees. And for me it was just overwhelming to be a part of it. The image would in the calendar to be launched in 2018 and has accomplished women from various walks of life. It has been a very humbling experience to say the least. I settled for the simplest and most inexpensive handloom saree that I have (I bought it for Rs 600 recently). I wanted to use this opportunity to prove that even in its simplest form, a handloom saree exudes elegance which is unmatched. All the pictures have been clicked by Naina Redhu. Continue Reading

Old Sarees, New Purpose (Part 1)

Accessories, Clothes, For the soul, Lifestyle - Anupriya kapur - August 22, 2017

I have always loved wearing sarees but I started working towards bringing the saree back when I wrote the article on the 100 Day Saree Pact last year. I found myself wearing sarees and handloom more and more, especially after my mom passed away. I don’t even know if there is any connection (she had stopped wearing sarees as she grew older) but maybe it’s my way of holding on to my roots and memories. And, however insignificant it might be, I decided to work towards promoting it in my own small way through my blog and Instagram. Continue Reading

Sneaker loving

Accessories, Clothes, Fashion - Anupriya kapur - March 10, 2017

I have never paid much attention to fashion trends. But like most women I struggle with I-have-nothing-to-wear-syndrome and I-don’t-know-what-to-wear-it-with syndrome. But I guess as you age, some things take priority over others. So for me now comfort comes first. Even though I still love wearing heels, I avoid wearing them to places where I know I have to stand for long hours or if I have to be on the move. Also, I don’t prefer to wear heels post a long workout or run. Thankfully, gone are the days when sneakers were only meant for gyms. You can style them the way you want to. So with my adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged I tried creating a few looks. What helps is that they are grey so they go well with most colors. Continue Reading

A forgotten affair

Accessories, Clothes, Fashion, For the soul - Anupriya kapur - February 8, 2017

How often do we take the city we live in for granted? Years pass by and the only place we usually visit are the nearest cafes and pubs. But when we travel, we take out time for places that aren’t even remotely worth visiting. I have started to believe that it’s almost criminal to not to see the heritage your own city has to offer.

My visits to monuments of Delhi might have started of as I wanted good pictures of me in a saree (you can read my previous articles here and here). But it’s slowly converted to love for Delhi and how beautiful it is.
