Three days in Kashmir

Over the last few months, I have been lucky enough to get a lot of travel opportunities. And I have loved (almost) every moment of it. To the extent that I think I might not be able to do without it. As I was trying to analyse the reason for this transition, a lot of things came to mind – escape, discovering new places, food and a bunch of the other usual reasons. But it wasn’t until the Kashmir trip that I realised that it is the personal growth you experience that has given me a hotfoot.

When they say that travel is the greatest teacher, it isn’t without reason. Before I left for Kashmir, I had an image of the state that most of us do. Fearful people walking about with their heads down, not talking to anyone, going on with their own business so they don’t get into any unnecessary trouble. The city of Bikaner

I never thought that out of all cities Rajasthan has to offer, I will end up going to Bikaner, let alone have a DDLJ moment. The thing is that the train stops at Gurgaon station for exactly 2 minutes and I was standing right opposite the first general compartment, my booking was for tier 2 AC at extreme end. And at 12 in the night, I wasn’t going to take any chances. I ran for my life, there was no Shahrukh Khan to hold my hand but I was greeted by 12 fabulous travelers I would be spending the next 3 days with. Anyhow, Bikaner was never on my list. But as things would have it, I got an opportunity to travel with Inspired Traveller (http://www.inspiredtraveller.in/), I took it up without reading much about the place.
