Kids these days are super active and easily distracted, not like our times. Their minds are sharper, engaged in a thousand different things. Being a mother of a young and highly intrigued child, I understand the need to keep him productively occupied. It has been on my mind for a while to keep him occupied with something, where he could learn as well as have fun. Going forward, this could well become his hobby. And let’s not forget, sitting in a place for a while helps build concentration and even though Legos do the job well but I can’t keep buying Legos all the time.
Music is something I have always been keen to make Kabir start on. A friend for life, isn’t it and what better way to keep oneself occupied? For his 10th birthday, I therefore decided to gift him a digital keyboard. Now, with the plethora of brands available, the question was which one to choose! It had to be kid-friendly, while at the same time not compromising on any other feature.
A friend told me about the latest Casio Keyboard and its trendy features. The minute I set my eyes on it, there was no second thought! The product had many unique features as compared to the others. It offers almost 100 built-in tones with a maximum polyphony of 8. It also has a digital screen which displays the tones, providing a fun and easy way for kids to learn. You can also play melodies and songs from the song book along with your child. Icing on the cake is the very reasonable range, from Rs. 2000 to 4000.
The greatest reward and gratification came from Kabir himself. He was thrilled. He showed tremendous interest. I too was surprised at the improvement he showed after a few weeks of practice.
Most importantly, I have been able to start Kabir on a hobby, which hopefully, might become a passion with time. And it’s ok even if it doesn’t as this way he’s spending lesser time on screen.
